Biography of David Plassman Shihan
Mr. Plassman started his martial arts journey at the age of 17. One of the local YMCA's was offering Tae Kwon Do and he decided to start taking classes. His first instructor, Mr. Skip Smith, was a good and disciplined teacher and taught his students well. About a year or so later, a friend of his told him about Davis School of Martial Arts. Mr. Plassman decided to start taking both Tae Kwon Do and Aikido/Aiki-Jutsu, filling his week with more and more martial arts. Aikido/Aiki-Jutsu being very different from Tae Kwon Do was more relaxed and circular, making it more challenging for Mr. Plassman. As his skill grew, so did his love for the martial arts. Carl Davis Hanshi pushed Mr. Plassman hard and soon after, he received his Sho-dan (1st degree black belt) in Aiki-Jutsu.
As the years went by Mr. Plassman was able to obtain his Yon-dan (4th degree black belt) in Aiki-Jutsu, a Ni-dan (2nd degree black belt) in Traditional Okinawan Kobudo and his Go-dan (5th degree black belt) in Pangai-noon Karate Jutsu. Currently he is the national director of Intl. Pangai-noon Budo Kai Hino-Ryu and the Head Instructor of Davis School of Martial Arts.
